I attended about 6 weddings this year. Big number, I know. But I enjoyed each and every one of them. The last one I attended was my cousin Lauren's wedding. This one was special because it meant that my whole family would get to see each other! With as many people in our family it's hard to get all of us gathered in one location at once. Unfortunately, everyone didn't make it to Ohio, however, the majority of us gathered in Columbus, OH for the nuptuals at the beginning of December. It was my first Christmas wedding! I enjoyed every moment from start to finish. The snow in Columbus made the event even more wonderful.

Thanksgiving
Another holiday spent with my loving family. This year we took Thanksgiving to Grandma's house in Alabama. It was our first time going there for the festivities. I'm glad we had a chance to get out of Georgia for the day and relax at Grandma's. She was more than excited to have us come to her this year. Normally, she is the one who has to do the traveling to come to us. I can't complain about great times, great fun and a full stomach. I'm already looking forward to Thanksgiving 2009.

My Wedding Experience
I was a bridesmaid for the first time recently. I had mixed feelings at first about being a bridesmaid. What exactly does a bridesmaid do?? I've never been one so of course I was worried that I would suck at it. But I agreed to do it anyway for my friend Rosie. She later ended up asking me to do a toast because she remembered my memorable speech from my mother's 50th birthday party. Rosie has been such a good friend to me, how could I refuse such an honor? In the end I'm so glad that I did it. It's an experience that I will never forget. I had the chance to travel to Portland, Oregon (something I probably wouldn't ever think to do before). We had a blast on the town during the bachelorette party. Then I got to witness a beautiful outdoor ceremony. As bridesmaids, we received pink flasks engraved with our names on them. A heartfelt token from the bride.
The experience was priceless and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Peach Pie
I'd never call myself an expert chef or an expert eater. However, I've recently decided that every young woman should know how to cook. That doesn't neccessarily mean they have to cook often, but it does mean they should know how. I'm not a hopeless cause in the kitchen, but I do need assistance. So I had a good friend of mine help me make my very first peach pie. Freshly peeled peaches and all. The pies were a big hit at my family 4th of July BBQ. We made two pies successfully and complimented them with Bluebell Homeade Vanilla Ice cream. I'm convinced that ANYTHING tastes best with Bluebell.
I'm looking forward to making bigger and better dishes in the future.

It's official, I'm a college graduate. I've left behind college and am now entering the real world. I'm excited, proud, overjoyed, thankful, grateful, terrified. I think I feel every feeling one can feel in this moment.

A Dream Accomplished...Twice
Who doesn't want to end their athletic career after reaching the top? I won my first national cheerleading title in 2006. Winning this recent championship was icing on the cake. It was one of the best moments of my cheerleading career. I must admit that the road to success was difficult. I believe that all of us had our own unique challenges and sacrifices, but they all paid off with the ultimate reward....a 1st place finish. Anything worth having is worth working hard for.
I'm proud to call myself a 2 time national champion.

My First Sushi
I've always wanted to try it, but I never did. Now I can officially say that sushi is one of my favorite foods. I wish I realized it sooner in life.
